Viewing Surface Descriptions

OptiView Family of Surfaces

Self-supporting and do not require tensioning to lay flat. These front projection surfaces are generally installed on operable roller screens with a dowel. Most surfaces in this group have a tearproof fiberglass base textile. OptiView surfaces are extremely sturdy and suitable for use in a variety of settings. All viewing surfaces in this family are compatible with 4K and UHD projectors.

Matt White XT1000E

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / Typical Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 1.0

The standard to which all other screen surfaces are compared. Preferred viewing surface in educational and commercial markets.

A matt white surface diffuses projected light in all directions, so the image can be seen from any angle. Offers accurate color rendition, and superior clarity due to its smooth, non-embossed surface. Requires adequate provision for the control of ambient light in the audience area. Unity gain with a panoramic 180° cone.

This surface is GREENGUARD GOLD certified.

Contrast Grey XH800E

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / High Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 0.8 Smooth grey surface offers excellent resolution and enhances color contrast and black levels in the projected image. Recommended for use with moderate and high output digital projectors. Performs well in conditions of ambient light. Full 180° viewing cone. This surface was previously named "High Contrast Grey."

Contrast White XH1100E

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / High Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 1.1

Diffuse white coating over a grey base material, yields a surface with the best qualities of both matt white and contrast grey screen fabrics. Recommended for use with low to moderate light output digital projectors, where some provision for light control exists. Improves the quality of blacks without affecting whites. Flame and mildew resistant.

Argent White XH1500E

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / High Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 1.5

Matt white base material with luminous coating. Offers high reflectivity, while maintaining a broad viewing cone.

Provides excellent resolution and color balance. Consider for use with moderate light output projectors in situations where ambient light cannot be adequately

controlled. Flame and mildew resistant.

Pearl White CH1900E

Controlled Viewing Cone / High Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 1.9

Matt white surface with pearlescent surface coating. Offers excellent resolution, color balance and uniformity. Tolerates a higher ambient light level than many front projection screen surfaces. Moderate viewing cone. Flame and mildew resistant.

OptiFlex Family of Surfaces

OptiFlex surfaces are suitable for tensioning and are available on permanently tensioned screens, tab tensioned roller-operated screens, or both. Choose OptiFlex for the flattest front projection viewing surfaces. All viewing surfaces in this family are compatible with 4K and UHD projectors.

Matt White XT1000V

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / Typical Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 1.0

Unity gain: the perfect matt white diffusing surface. Recommended for use with all types of projectors provided ambient light can be reasonably controlled. Reflects a uniformly bright image over complete 180° viewing cone with precise resolution and accurate color balance.

This surface was previously named "M1300." Optionally available with black backing as Matt White XT1000VB.

This surface is GREENGUARD GOLD certified.

Grey XH600V

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / High Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 0.6

Grey front projection surface provides excellent contrast and black reproduction. Intended for use with moderate to high output digital projectors. Grey color enhances color contrast and black levels in the projected image. Also allows for more ambient light in the audience area than matt white surfaces. Relatively broad viewing cone. This surface was previously named "HiDef Grey."

Optionally available with black backing as Grey XH600VB.

Pure White XT1300V

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / Typical Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 1.3

Draper Pure White XT1300V offers a 30% boost in brightness over a traditional matt white surface while still maintaining an extremely wide viewing cone, with half gain angle over 90 degrees. No color shift at any angle, excellent white field uniformity. Pure White XT1300V is a great surface where lighting is well controlled and where enhanced image brightness is needed due to limited projector brightness.

Please Note: This surface will contain one or more seams if image area surpasses 90" high.

Pearl White MH1500V

Moderate Viewing Cone / High Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 1.5

Matt white surface with pearlescent coating. Offers excellent resolution, color balance and uniformity. Tolerates a higher ambient light level than many front projection screen surfaces. Moderate viewing cone. This surface was previously named "CH1900V."

ReAct MS1000V

Moderate Viewing Cone /SuperiorContrast / On-Axis Gain of 1.0

Silver/grey surface offers enhanced color contrast even in ambient light. Draper's ReAct MS1000V is fully HD compliant and is available on both permanently tensioned and tab-tensioned screen models.

This surfaces is ideal for multipurpose spaces where lights remain on.

ClearSound Family of Surfaces

All surfaces in the ClearSound family are acoustically transparent.

Standard and microscopic perforations are available, and the innovative woven acoustically transparent fabrics—first available through Draper are also still in the line. The combination of self-supporting and tensioned surfaces means that almost any Draper projection screen model can be provided with a ClearSound surface.

ClearSound White Weave XT900E

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / Typical Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 0.9

The most innovative and versatile acoustically transparent screen material available. Reflects uniform image over full 180° field with accurate color fidelity. Acoustical properties are comparable to the highest quality speaker grille cloth. Some control of ambient light is recommended.

Flame and mildew resistant.

This surface was previously named "AT1200." Not recommended for viewing less than 10' from screen.

ClearSound Grey Weave XH600E

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / High Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 0.6

Offers the acoustical properties of ClearSound White Weave XT900E, while providing the best optical qualities of both matt white and contrast grey screen fabrics. Provides vivid color contrast over a full 180° viewing cone. Flame and mildew resistant. This surface was previously named "AT Grey." Not recommended for viewing less than 10' from screen.

ClearSound NanoPerf XT800V

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / Typical Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 0.8

Microscopic perforations in the fabric create an acoustically transparent surface that does not compromise audio quality when speakers are placed behind the screen, while providing a beautiful image. The projected image is gorgeous, with a full 180° viewing cone and accurate color reproduction.

Ideal for home theatre. Not recommended for viewing less than 10' from screen.

ClearSound Perf XT900V

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / Typical Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 0.9 Flexible matt white perforated surface. Reasonable control of ambient light is recommended. Not recommended for viewing less than 6m from screen. For shorter viewing distances, or 4K/UHD projection, we recommend ClearSound NanoPerf XT800V.

ClearSound Perf XT950E

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / Typical Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 0.95

Textile backed matt white perforated surface.

Not recommended for viewing less than 6m from screen.

For shorter viewing distances, or 4K/UHD projection, we recommend ClearSound White Weave XT900E and ClearSound Grey Weave XH600E.

Rear Projection

CineFlex Family of Surfaces

Draper has offered a CineFlex flexible rear projection surface for many years. CineFlex is now a family, offering choices of gain and color to meet a range of rear and dual front/rear projection needs. CineFlex surfaces are available on a wide range of permanently tensioned, portable, and tab tensioned projection screen models.

CineFlex CH1200V

Controlled Viewing Cone / High Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 1.2

Neutral grey rear projection diffusing surface. Provides high resolution and excellent contrast, even in lighted rooms.

Recommended for use with low to medium output projectors. Moderate viewing cone. This surface was previously named "Cineflex."

CineFlex MH800V

Moderate Viewing Cone / High Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 0.8

Low gain flexible rear material. Designed for use with high light output projectors and wide audience seating patterns. Offers rich color contrast, well-defined resolution, and a broad viewing cone. This surface was previously named "Low-Gain Cineflex."

CineFlex White XT600V

Extra Wide Viewing Cone / Typical Contrast / On-Axis Gain of 0.6

This white rear projection surface works well for edge matching or edge blending applications, and also for short throw rear projection.

Broad viewing cone and high resolution. Reasonable control of ambient light is recommended. This surface was previously named "CineFlex Dual"

Custom Printed Backgrounds

Many Draper projection screen models can be utilized as high quality video conferencing backdrops or signage with custom printing. Simply submit your completed artwork, and Draper will print your graphics on with high quality CMYK digital printing presses.

Chroma Key Backgrounds

Green and Blue Chroma Key surfaces are available by quotation.

Chroma Key backgrounds (also known as "green screen" or "blue screen") are used in video production and video conferencing.
