Digital Signage

Digital Signage is the latest type of displays of advertisements used all over the world by all types of people.

It is a form of digital display such as a plasma or LCD screen, or even projector, showing information about an organisation, its products and services, news or any other message.

Digital Signage solution can be found almost everywhere from shops to business and school reception areas, from airports to hospitals etc.

Digital signage solutions can be used for many different applications. Here are some examples:

  • General information: news, weather, time
  • Interactive Information: Allow people to scroll throw information from interactive check in facilites to information such as that found in musuems, interactive shop maps, property listsings in estate agents, product or service details.
  • Customer information: opening and closing times, current promotions, news, directions to exits and toilets, take off and landing times in airports
  • Internal information: health and safety messages, daily news, upcoming events
  • Advertising: product or service advertising, promotions, current available properties for estate agents, shop window display
  • Brand awareness: general advertising of a brand or business

Digital Signage Content What can I display and how do I update it?

Theoratically you can display any content whether it is images, videos, audio, text etc. Although you are limited by the digital signage system you use as some cannot use certain program files.

Before purchasing any system, you need to have an idea of what you would like to display and where and then choose a digital signage solution that will suit your requirements.

Once a system is in place, it is crucial to have good content that is updated regularly.

Updating a digital signage system is usually quick and easy. The newest digital signage services allow instant updates from one central computer or server to a whole network of displays anywhere in the country via the internet or even 3G. Some will work on an internal network and digital signage systems with a small group or single displays will have memory cards storing the content and schedules.

How much does it cost? Is Digital Signage expensive?

As with most things, the price depends on the features and complexity of the system required. A multi site, multi display system will cost more than a single display in a reception area.

At Cherrywood AV we have solutions for all budgets and requirements. Prices can start as low as a few hundred pounds or we can supply and install the most complex digital signage systems.
